Pondering the Upper Room Discourse

Thank you for your readership. I’ve concluded my writing about my Ten Days of Awe that I experienced last summer.

As always, when I began writing 20 years ago, the Lord told me to merely share with others what He is teaching me. Well, I’ve decided to pop in here and share with you, my close friends, the ponderings of my heart and what I’m learning. I’ll share some of my thoughts and questions I bring to the Lord.

Currently, I’m camped in the Upper Room Discourse. I feel like a small child who entered a secret room with Jesus and the disciples. There are things that occur in The Upper Room, that I don’t think most of the “Church” understands. The words shared are profound.

So, let’s ponder together. Learn from what Jesus was sharing with His close followers. Let’s become the close followers of Jesus and enter in.

What I share will be random and sporadic. But read along with me and accept this rare invitation to enter the world of Jesus, to which, few have access.

First, read John 13. I’m wondering…. Have you ever been in a moment when someone washed your feet and prayed over you prophetically?

The first time this happened to me; I was caught completely by surprise. I mean, I had organized the women’s retreat and knew we would offer feet washing as part of our weekend. I wasn’t surprised about this portion of our program.

However, when someone asked me to sit down and they slowly removed my shoes, and began to trickly water on my foot, something broke in me. I began to weep and weep as two of my sisters wash my feet and spoke destiny over me.

I was undone. UNDONE.

Here are the questions I would ask Jesus: Lord, what was truly going on here, in the upper room, that isn’t obvious. How was the washing received by the men (except Peter. We will discuss him next.)

Jesus, do you approach me today to wash my feet?

Jesus, how can I wash your feet?

Okay friends, what are your thoughts? See you in the comments.

Love and blessings, Lynn
